No 14 - to sample all ales brewed in West Sussex
Attended Petersfield Beer and Cider Festival on 15th October. 51 ales racked up over the three days. I sampled 11 of them from across the south of England, but sadly only two were from West Sussex, both from Langhams Brewery

No 14 - to sample all ales brewed in West Sussex
Bit of a hiatus during August on the Beer front. Anyway now back on the quest. Went to The Beer Essentials in Horsham recently and procured a number of bottles from my list. First to sample is Listers Best:
No 34 - Cook 50 recipes I have never cooked before
Last weekend I harvested majority of crab apples from our bush. Used them to make Crab Apple Jelly for first time. Only got about 1100ml of Jelly but it looks good, albeit much darker than expected. Possibly as i used brown sugar instead of white ( all I had to hand).
No 31 - To make own Chutney using home grown produce
Scrumped some blackberries in the field we back on to and added to some blackberries from our own garden to make some spiced blackberry chutney. The left over blackberries went with some free Bramley's from in the village to make a scrummy Crumble.

No 37 - Home Made Cheese
Having now made two batches of cheese it became obvious I need some way to mould my cheese. So I have brought some cheese moulds from Lakelands:
Also, given my quest to progress this activity I treated myself to a specialist book.

No 33 - To visit every church in West Sussex
Nothing like starting at the top, with the biggest! Last weekend our Nephew and his girlfriend were over from Australia, and they wanted to look around St Richards Cathedral. Even though I have lived in West Sussex for almost three years, I had never been inside the Cathedral. I have now.
1 down, a number to go. Perhaps a list is in order?
A quick web search brought me to the following list:
